I have a small collection of poems, all written 3-4 years ago. I will post them all in this thread, a seperate post for each one.

The emotion of pleasure or pain
Lost forever
You found another
To bring you a child

My true love
I still hurt tonight
Body barren
And you left

Cold, heartless
You used me
When I only loved you
For you

Didnít care
That we were poor
I had the only thing
I ever needed

Broken spirit
Canít go on
Cast aside
In dark despair

Once pleasure
Peaceful bliss
Now torture
Hearing your name

Still existing
Day to day
Growing old

Love, fleeting
A rare butterfly
Net broken
Sorrow sets in

I Crave
by Shannon Ray

I crave
Strong arms to hold me tight
Against your firm chest
When I fall asleep at night

I crave
A heart-to-heart talk
Getting to know you
And go for a walk

I crave
A companion when I grow old
Not fleeting fancies
If I may be so bold

I crave
Laughter until dawn
Your soothing voice upon my ears
And sleep when darkness is gone

I crave
A soul mate to love
Someone to fill my days and nights
With all of the above

Haunted house
A floor board creaks
Look out!
Lost souls are roaming
On a dark and stormy night
Werewolves, witches, zombies and ghosts
Even a vampire or two
Every undead for miles around
Night creatures celebrate Ďtil dawn

Between a Story and A Song
by Shannon Ray

In their world I donít quite fit
In this one I donít belong
Caught somewhere in the middle
Between a story and a song

Chapter, passage, verse, or rhyme
The words sometimes flow
Random or methodical
Ideas begin to grow

Story teller or poet
Still trying to find my niche
A little of both, a lot of neither
My words will never make me rich

Fitting in was never my thing
Iím happy in my own little space
Off-beat, a rebel
With my own style and grace

My words evoke emotion
Though I could be wrong
Sometimes good, sometimes bad
Between a story and a song

The Perfect Man
by Shannon Ray

[Author's note: This is a spoof of sorts. Can you figure out what it's from?]

I have this obsession
To deny it
Is out of the question

The perfect man
Does he have
Blonde hair and a tan?

No, heís not some creature
From some
Science fiction, double feature

Heís seen blue skies
With his
Deep dark eyes

Through his soft brown hair
I run my fingers
Lewd daydream or erotic nightmare

The silky drape clung to his thigh
And a little bit shy

Insane lust taking its toll
Hot Damn!
Bless my soul

Only kissed before
Left me wanting

He flexed his muscles
And asked me to dance
The Madison, not The Hustle

Thrown into mind flips
My body quivered
As his tongue ran over his lush lips

I took a step to the right
He gave me an evil wink
It was going to be a special night

In just seven days since it began
On a strange journey
With the perfect man
