"Not everything that counts can be counted, and not everything that can be counted counts." (Sign hanging in Einstein's office at Princeton) - Albert Einstein !

what is the point of this quote ?

It refers I think to those things we hold to be true and dear to us which can not be proven and therefore they count but can not be counted. Hope this helps clear up the deep thinking of a great man.

Einstein made many quotes that showed that he was much more than a physicist. He was a philosopher, but he was also a down-to-earth-person. He is possibly the most well-rounded person who has ever lived.

Too true, as I said a great man.

Einstein was well aware that there's much more to life than an understanding of the physical universe in which we live. He was, as has been mentioned, one of the most well-rounded people in history. In addition to some of the things mentioned here, he was a great lover of music and played the violin.

Never thought I'd find a post I have no opinion of. But I did.

Einstein to me was and still is one of the smartest people ever.

I liked his layman's explanation of relativity. A pretty Girl sits on your lap it seems like the only time in the world yet when she gets back up... it seems the encounter was only for an instant.

I love Einstein's sense of humor. He and Charlie Chaplin were friends. Can you imagine those two together.
