View Full Version : lonely nights

Still as can be. I sit on this lonely
bridge watching, as the children play
and the wind brings the trees to a
haunting sway.

I watch the ducks swim so free,
often wishing, it could be me.
nature calls out in it's painful voice,
leaving me with one lonely choice.

Night will soon be here as the
darkness swallows the light, it is
then, i'll begin this endless fight.

Fires rage, in one mans eye. As
another child sighs, so grey turns
the sky, to relieve the yelp of one
mans cry.

some ask why?
and recieve no reply,
as others simply lie.

time rolls by but only one
will die..

Slowly he picks up the knife,
asleep his wife lies, and hearing no weap
he takes his own life..

Still as can be, I sit on this lonely bridge.
watching as the children play and wondering
why my sons father never stayed..

This was one i wrote for a very close friend of mine.... her husband took his life after finding out he had cancer and would die in less then 2 months..

he never told her he had cancer, he kept it hidden cause he was afraid of her reaction toward him... they had their son, but shortly after having him they found his cancer had spread... Her dream was to be a mother of three
and it just could never be with him... he did not want to lose her...

but i sat with her when she would be on that bridge asking me why didn't he stay.. why did he do this to us...

his family requested an atopsy of his body and that was when they all found out why he had done it...

i told ya a lot of the things i write are actual events...

more to come...
